Ferlin Husky appeared in 18 films, and became the first Country Music performer to receive a 'star' on the Hollywood Boulevard. In 1960, Ferlin gained international fame when he recorded the wonderful song,'Wings Of A Dove.' The Oak Ridge Boys recorded 'There's A Higher Power' for the Nashville Record label in the mid- 1960s. The group's trademark enthusiasm and outstanding harmonies are everpresent on this moving song. Kitty Wells was the first female Country singer to be a major star. For that reason, she became known as the Queen of Country Music. Wells sings the great standard, 'Rank Strangers To Me.' Jimmy Martin was the King of Bluegrass. Martin's vocals were arguably the best in Bluegrass Music. Jimmy builds a strong case for that fact as he sings 'Who Will Sing For Me?' Bill Carlisle's career can be traced back to the first decade of Country Music. The amazing star appeared on the Grand Ole Opry into his nineties. Carlisle's moving version of 'Tramp On The Street' is one of the best you'll ever hear. Jack Greene is listed among Billboard magazine's Top 100 Most Played Recording Artist Over The Last 40 Years. That comes as no surprise, considering the fact that Jack has two #1-selling albums to his credit and nine #1-hits. Jack's 'Breath Of God' is truly awe-inspiring. Jean Shepard's first #1-hit was her unforgettable duet with Ferlin Husky titled 'A Dear John Letter.' During her lengthy career, which spans 50 years in the Country Music spotlight, Jean became a favorite on the Grand Ole Opry. She sings a stirring spirit-filled 'Crying Holy Unto The Lord.' Jim and Jesse were recipients of the National Heritage Award in 1997, and with good reason. For fifty years, this legendary Bluegrass duo helped develop and refine the Bluegrass music we enjoy today. The duo's tight harmonies and innovative instrumentals ring clear on 'Kneel By the Altar.'
